Personal Training

Helping you get fitter, healthier and stronger
What is Personal Training?
Personal training involves you and your certified personal trainer pushing you through a program that is going to benefit you, your body, your health and your psychological well being.
It gives you in-person moral support, ensures that your form is perfect to help protect your body, automatic exercise alterations if needed and your own person cheer leader.
Our personal training is currently only being offered in your house/garden, or in an outside environment such as your local park. Equipment such as kettlebells, weights, battle ropes, tyres and resistance etc can still be used and will be provided for each session.
Personal training in a gym environment will be offered in the future.
Why Choose SAFE Hands HFR?
Your personal trainer, Josh, is an expert in both injury prevention and rehabilitation making him an exercise and fitness specialist. He will provide you with the most appropriate and effective exercise routine for you. This may include:

2/ Working towards your specific goals. whether this is:
- weight and aesthetic (i.e. changing your body shape - this isn't limited to decreasing body fat/weight, it can also be increasing your weight through targeted exercise and nutrition)
- health (i.e. decreasing your resting blood pressure, improving muscular tone or decreasing body fat percentage to a healthy level)
- performance (i.e. improving your tennis serve power, or improving your golf swing)
OR
- lifestyle orientated which may just be getting you walking around the park with your family.
3/ Improving specific exercise based targets, for example improving your 1 rep max deadlift or squat.
What to expect?
When you first start on your journey with SAFE Hands HFR, you will receive:
An initial consultation with your dedicated exercise, injury and rehabilitation specialist which will take into account:
-
An in-depth injury and medical profile assessment (previous injuries, current injuries or ‘niggles’, a medical history questionnaire of your general health etc.) – this allows me to ensure that your plan has minimal chance of aggravating previous injuries, causing new ones and will allow me to ensure that your plans will be suitable and effective for YOUR current circumstances.
-
Analysis of your personal goals, time availability, equipment availability, preferences and dislikes. This allows me to design a plan that is 100% for you, whether it is a workout at home, in the local park or at the gym. You are more likely to stick to it if it fits around your lifestyle!
-
Analysis of your nutrition. I will ask you to keep a food diary of EVERYTHING that you eat and drink for the week prior to our first consultation so that I can suggest small alterations that you could make, this helps to keep it realistic and maintainable. Don’t worry, you won’t be eating salad for breakfast, lunch and dinner – and please be honest, there is no judgement, it is purely to help you.

-
A personalised session by session exercise programme that is designed specifically for YOU and YOUR goals. No copy and paste jobs, no generic exercise and nothing that is unrealistic for your personal circumstances. Your entire routine will be given to you in a way that suits you (the most popular way is a downloadable app on your phone that you can take anywhere with you).
-
You will also have continuous email access to your trainer whenever you feel you need support, have any question that you need answered or need a specific part of your programme altering.
